How Long Does It Take To Manifest?

Human beings are inherently wired to need answers. We need to be able to measure a concept to accept it as truth. To do this, we need to know the how and the when. So when we are unable to determine the “how” or “when”, the next anxious thoughts are usually, “How long does it take to manifest? How long will it take until I can see/observe my desire?”

I get this question a lot. Trust me, this was yet another stumbling block I experienced when I began applying the Law. The thing is, it’s not our job to determine the how/when your manifestation will come to pass. At least, it’s not our conscious mind and its limitations that dictates how and when your desire will materialize. That job is up to our Awareness, or God that resides within.

I get that this is probably not the answer you were seeking. I also get that the nebulous and conflicting answers taught by other manifestation teachers can be confusing. Some teachers say manifestations happen instantly, and others claim there will always be a time delay between when you’ve imagined and the time it takes to materialize.

So which is it?

Through my own personal experience, along with careful and meticulous studying and applying of Neville’s teachings, I’ve found there are two main factors that determine how long it takes to manifest:

  1. The time it takes for your subconscious mind to accept the new idea or desire; and
  2. The time it takes for your desire to materialize once accepted by the subconscious mind.

Bypassing The Gatekeeper

Your subconscious mind is God, the Creator, the Awareness in which everything exists. The subconscious is your impersonal and subjective mind. It will accept any thoughts, beliefs and assumptions that your conscious mind accepts as true. Once accepted, the subconscious mind goes to work in physically materializing those beliefs into our 3D world. Our objective reality is made up of the beliefs and assumptions that have been accepted and “impressed” onto the subconscious mind.

Your conscious mind is your objective mind, the mind connected to your personal identity. It’s a collection of your past experiences, beliefs, and the presumptions you hold to be true. Our conscious mind generates ideas and impresses them onto your subconscious mind. It also acts as a “gatekeeper” to your subconscious. Therefore, your conscious mind will try and reject any new ideas that don’t line up with your existing beliefs and assumptions.

This is the first hurdle to overcome to deliberately manifest your desires, and the first factor that’ll determine the time it will take to do so. We must first get past our conscious or “logical” mind that will deny the existence of anything that doesn’t coincide with our current beliefs, or anything it can’t observe with our physical senses.

Cue the State Akin To Sleep

So how do we do this? We achieve this by using our imagination when we’re in the State Akin to Sleep.

The State Akin to Sleep is a period when we are in a deeply relaxed, almost trance-like state. We naturally go through this period twice a day, right before we fall asleep and right after we wake up. It’s the groggy, twilight stage where we’re not complete unconscious, or unable to control our thoughts, but we are not fully conscious or alert either. It’s during these times that border sleep or in a deep, meditative state that our conscious mind winds down and our subconscious is the most impressible. Anything that you imagine or feel during these times has the best chances of bypassing your conscious and being accepted by the subconscious mind.

This is why this method is so much more effective than affirmations or intentions alone. The latter, though eventually effective if persisted in, will take much longer to impress because your conscious mind will initially try to reject them. But when you get yourself into a meditative or hypnotic-like state, your conscious mind lowers its guard, thus allowing your new ideas or desires to be accepted by the subconscious much faster, and with much less resistance.

Changing States, or How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Trust The Law

Most will probably agree that this second factor is typically the one we get hung up on the most, especially when we’re just learning how to manifest. Because the time it takes from when the idea or desire has been accepted by the subconscious and the time you’re aware of it in your outside world entirely depends on how long you can persist in  occupying your desired state.

And by state I’m talking about your state of being. To put as simply as possible, your ‘state’ is a set of experiences based on a body of beliefs.

Each ‘state’ is a world of its own, and comes with its own reactions, beliefs, characters, and experiences. Each state is, quite literally, its own reality. And you are constantly shifting through these states depending on the beliefs and assumptions you carry in your mind.

Re-read that last paragraph. And again. Read it as many times necessary to fully comprehend because understanding this concept will be the difference between your manifestations taking mere hours or years to materialize.

This Whole “Time” Thing

It’s important to understand that “time”, as we know and understand it, is an illusion. Although it appears to be, time is not linear. What is actually happening is we are shifting through one of the infinite ‘states’ or realities that exist. Every moment to moment, we are selecting and shifting into states that directly coincides with our beliefs and assumptions.

You may also know and understand this as parallel realities. You are shifting or moving through infinite states, all the time. All things already exist in one of the infinite realities or “states” of being.

So we are not so much even manifesting as we are selecting or choosing a new ‘state’ to reside in. And when we take aim and think from our desire, we are moving from our current state to the state that has our desired experience(s).

Boom. That’s it.

So the “time” factor here is how long we can persist in our new, desired state. If we react to negative circumstances or succumb to doubt, we revert back to our previous state (the unwanted state) of being. We experience this as being a “time delay”.

Keepin’ That Faith Alive

This brings us to the next crucial factor: our faith in our ability to manifest. This is why Neville stressed the importance of changing your perspective and ignoring your current reality. You must persist in knowing that your desired outcome is already yours. By doing so, you are avoiding negative reactions or doubt that will send you reverting back to your old state.

It cannot be stressed enough: do not react to your current circumstances. They do not matter one bit. Your imaginal acts precede your 3D world, and everything you are currently experiencing in your objective reality is all just old beliefs and manifestations. This is where faith comes in. This is where knowing that the Law works, no matter what your objective reality may be saying otherwise.

I’m not gonna lie to you guys, this part was the most difficult for me. We as humans are wired to react to circumstances, it’s literally our biological defense mechanism. We are also wired to doubt anything we can’t measure or prove with our physical senses. But by reacting or entertaining doubt, we are reverting back to our old state and slowing things down for us. So therefore, you must persist in the assumption of the wish fulfilled.

You need to train yourself to just observe, instead of react. We can’t let ourselves entertain doubt or thoughts of lack. Doing so will only take you that much longer to acquire that which you desire.

Testing, Testing…

So how do we build our faith? By applying the Law. Put these teachings to the test. If you think it’s all a bunch of BS, then prove it wrong. Either way, you have nothing to lose and literally everything to gain.

Your current world is all just a shadow of your former beliefs and assumptions. Rest assured, your manifestations will come faster and with ease once some faith has been built.

If you feel an urge to react or to struggle, Be Still and Know That I Am God. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and repeat. Be Still and Know That I AM God.

You are the Creator in your world and it all starts from within. Your powers are beyond what words could possibly describe. I personally have witnessed miracles that were near-instant to realize. I’ve experienced it too many times to have even a single drop of doubt. Your faith will grow to an unwavering certainty as you continue to apply the Law and you will master this game of life.

I AM wealthy, poor, healthy, sick, free, confined were first of all impressions or conditions felt before they became visible expressions. Your world is your consciousness objectified. Waste no time trying to change the outside; change the within or the impression; and the without or expression will take care of itself. When the truth of this statement dawns upon you, you will know that you have found the lost word or the key to every door. I AM (your consciousness) is the magical lost word which was made flesh in the likeness of that which you are conscious of being.
